Fitness for You

Fitness does not mean having a supermodel body, be it a super sexy lady or a muscled guy. No it does mean that, fitness means being able to perform physical activity. Fitness also means you have the strength and energy to live your day to day life.  It means that you can function with vigor and alertness, without fatigue and with ample energy to engage in leisure activities and meet physical stresses.

Fitness means different things to different people. To some being able to run a marathon is fitness; to others being able to walk unaided for a block is fitness. Well, you really don’t have to be an athlete just to be fit. It’s true that athletes have a very high level of fitness but walking for an hour daily also create a good level of fitness.

When I think of fitness I’m thinking about how fit my body is. How healthy I am. Fitness is working out at the gym, walking, jogging, playing volley ball, swimming and lots of other activities.

Fitness is about health and well being of our bodies.  It helps us feel better. It gives us strength, better focus and it helps us combat stress. It is also good for our heart, lungs, organs, bones and joints. It helps your body increase the blood circulation which in turn prevents cholesterol build-up. It helps you breath easier and helps you retain more oxygen. More oxygen helps us retain more energy. Fitness helps prevent heart attack, high blood pressure, diabetes, muscle atrophy or sagging and even hemorrhoids.

Being fit helps you even in recreation time, even if you’re playing tennis or even chess. It helps your mind react faster and your body active. If you are fit you will have better focus. Leisure time would be more fun if you are fit. You can enjoy playing with your kids or other people and not get tired easily, there will be no muscle fatigue and stress is released.

When you are active and fit, your body is transformed from a calorie burning car to calorie burning bullet train. Your body also burn calories even at rest. With less workout and effort, burning fats is easy.
 
Physical fitness is actually comprised in two related concepts, General fitness or Specific fitness.

General fitness is a state of health and well being. Basically it means that you have a healthy body weight and you have the ability to perform physical fitness activities without tiring easily. Physical activities that are designed to achieve help are considered general fitness. General fitness includes physical activities to loss and maintains weight.
Building muscles is also considered general fitness.

Walking is considered as the most common workout to achieve general fitness as it helps in the overall health. Gradually increasing these kinds of activities is also good. Brisk walking helps in cardiovascular health and tones muscles. Jogging, running and even marathon are also helpful.

Specific fitness means activities that are done to increase or enhance a specific part of our body. Playing golf specifically enhance our arm muscle group and balance. This is good if you are targeting on a muscles group to develop. If you are a guy with small bicep muscles, you can workout using weights and increase your bicep muscle tone and strength.
 
General and specific exercises go hand and hand. It is best if you are maintaining your body’s fitness while focusing on specific parts of your body that needs improvement.

Though fitness is a part of health, it does not always mean that if you’re fit you’re healthy. They may influence each other but they are not the same. Unfit people may be healthy, but they cannot perform their daily tasks. They become unfit due to lack of activities or exercises. Fit people can and may perform their day to day task however they may not be in good health to do it. This just shows that fitness is a component of health and it can influence your total health but taking care of our body is the most important thing we must remember. Eat healthy foods, have a healthy lifestyle, and maintain health by having a good level of fitness.

This site will help you in staying fit and healthy. There are a lot of exercise programs and workout training out there yet it’s hard to decide what best suits you. This site will review all the products and angles for you to achieve the fit body you’re looking for.
